The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) inaugurated its 54th National Convention of Company Secretaries in Bhubaneswar on September 5, 2026. The three-day convention is being held on the theme “NextGen CS – Catalyst of Growth & Guardian of Governance.”
The annual congregation brings together Company Secretaries, regulators, industry leaders, professionals, government officials and other stakeholders for deliberations on emerging issues in corporate governance, compliance and professional practice.
On the occasion, ICSI released several publications and announced new initiatives, including its Bi-annual Progress Report 2026, Students’ Benevolent Fund, the first Youth Board Meeting, publications on International Valuation Standards, environmental and mining laws, labour codes, ESG and carbon markets, along with revised ICSI Auditing Standards and the Guidance Note on Prohibition of Insider Trading.
The Institute also signed MoUs with FICCI and PaperLite and announced webinar series focusing on MSME transformation, start-up laws and governance, and the use of artificial intelligence in secretarial practice and compliance.
ICSI President CS Pawan G. Chandak highlighted integrity, trust and accountability as the core values of Company Secretaries, emphasising their role in strengthening governance and contributing to nation-building.
Shri Inderdeep Singh Dhariwal, Additional Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Retd.), described the convention as a confluence of past experience and future leadership.
Around 1,500 delegates are attending the event physically, while approximately 3,000 participants are joining virtually. Senior ICSI office-bearers and representatives from its Bhubaneswar Chapter also addressed the inaugural session.
