The 184th meeting of the Odisha State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) was held at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneswar, to review the banking sector’s performance up to June 2026. The meeting was chaired by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Shri Deoranajan Kumar Singh.
Shri Singh urged banks and district administrations to work closely with the State Government to achieve the objectives of Samruddha Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, with focus on balanced and inclusive growth. He highlighted Odisha’s mineral resources, 575-km coastline, skilled youth and growing investor interest as key drivers of future economic development.
The meeting reviewed implementation of major schemes, including PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMJDY, APY, PMFBY, PM Surya Ghar, PMEGP, PMFME and Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening credit support for women entrepreneurs and enabling SHGs to transition into SMEs.
Finance Department Principal Secretary Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra stressed the role of banks in implementing welfare and development programmes. Discussions also focused on the Annual Credit Plan 2026-27, particularly agriculture, allied activities and MSMEs.
Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Smt. Shalini Pandit, called for improving Odisha’s Credit-Deposit ratio to the national average and appreciated the State’s implementation of APY.
Senior officials from the RBI, NABARD, UCO Bank, SLBC, State Government departments and leading banks attended the meeting.
