New Delhi - The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) is participating in the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav (BVM) 2026 for the first time, bringing products from all 30 districts of Odisha to a national stage.
The four-day Mahotsav began today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, and will run till August 15. The ORMAS Pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, IAS, CEO, ORMAS, in the presence of senior officials.
Showcasing handicrafts, handlooms, home décor, accessories, spices and food products, the pavilion highlights Odisha’s traditional craftsmanship and rural entrepreneurship. Ahead of the event, ORMAS also set up a pop-up store at DLF Avenue, Saket, to build visibility in Delhi.
According to ORMAS, the focus of participation is to create B2B opportunities, strengthen market linkages, and open export channels for rural producer groups, artisans, weavers, CBOs and entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to connect Odisha’s rural products with national and international buyers, traders and business stakeholders.
Business delegates can visit the exhibition from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. General visitors will be allowed entry from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Calling it a significant step, ORMAS said the platform will help expand markets, boost livelihoods, and promote the cultural heritage of Odisha’s rural communities on a wider scale.
