Vedanta Aluminium is strengthening healthcare access for remote communities across Rayagada and Kalahandi through mobile health services, primary healthcare centres, emergency ambulance support, specialist consultations and preventive health awareness programmes.
Between April and July 2026, Vedanta’s Mobile Health Units organised 225 health camps, benefiting 5,494 people in underserved villages. While 85 camps in Rayagada reached 2,558 beneficiaries, 140 camps in Kalahandi served 2,936 people with medical consultations, basic diagnostics and essential medicines.
Vedanta-supported PHC Sunger in Rayagada provided healthcare services to 2,563 patients between May and July and facilitated 60 institutional deliveries, while maintaining zero newborn deaths.
Emergency ambulance services made 95 trips in Kasipur Block of Rayagada and 51 trips in Thuamul Rampur Block of Kalahandi, helping pregnant women, accident victims and other critical patients receive timely medical attention.
Multi-specialty health camps connected 358 patients with specialist doctors. Awareness programmes on malaria, dengue, breastfeeding and maternal and child health also reached hundreds of community members.
Vedanta additionally supported the Pulse Polio Programme, benefiting 90 children. Overall, these initiatives have touched more than 9,300 beneficiaries, bringing essential healthcare closer to rural communities across Rayagada and Kalahandi.
