Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar )- Renowned academic and educational Administrator, Professor Dr. Biswamohan Misra passed away at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbaî yesterday. He was ailing for some time.
A former Professor of Political Science, he was also the Principal of Khallikote College ( currently University) ; Director, Academic Staff College of Utkal University ; was also Principal of Kendrapara College; N C College, Jajpur and Nayagarh college. Many scholars did their higher degree by research under his supervision.
Born in Birapratapur village in Puri district into a family of socially minded people, he did his Graduation in SCS College Puri and his Masters Degree Political Science from Allahabad University. Later, he was Awarded a DLitt degree in Public Administration by Utkal university.
He was a very popular teacher of his time. Many of his students went on to join civil services. Post-retirement, he has been staying with his daughter Dr Lipsa Mishr in Mumbai.
Professor Misra was a prolific speaker and writer in his younger days. He translated many important books on international law into Oriya language. He was always known for his humility and his popularity both with students and staff that he worked with. Professor Mishra has two children, son Dr. Santrupt Misra, currently a member of Rajya Sabha and daughter Dr. Lipsa Mishra, a retired professional. His wife Mrs. Sarajubala Misra has been his companion for 64 years. Many admirers and public figures expressed grief at his passing away.
