Pinaki Patnaik assumes charge as Officer on Special Duty to Chief Secretary

Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar)- The Office of the Chief Secretary Odisha today organised a farewell-cum-welcome ceremony at the Second Floor Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan. On this occasion, Shri Kalyan Kumar Rath, OSD to the Chief Secretary, was felicitated on his voluntary retirement from Government service, while Shri Pinaki Patnaik, the newly appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Secretary, was formally welcomed.

After serving the Government of Odisha with distinction in various administrative capacities over several years, Shri Kalyan Kumar Rath had been serving as Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Secretary since May 2023. Following his voluntary retirement from Government service, he is slated to assume office as a Member of the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission.

Speaking on the occasion, the Officers and Staff of the Office of the Chief Secretary appreciated Shri Rath’s exemplary leadership, foresight and outstanding coordination skills, noting that his contributions significantly strengthened the day-to-day functioning of the Chief Secretary’s Office. They also conveyed their best wishes for his continued success and a distinguished tenure in his new assignment.

The Officers and Staff also extended a warm welcome to Shri Pinaki Patnaik, who assumed charge today as the new Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Secretary. He was greeted with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Office. The Officers and Staff present congratulated Shri Patnaik on his new assignment and wished him a successful and productive tenure.

Prior to his present assignment, Shri Patnaik was serving as Additional Secretary in the Skill Development and Technical Education Department and as Officer on Special Duty to the Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority.

Shri Debendra Kumar Jena, Advisor to the Office of the Chief Secretary, coordinated and conducted the proceedings of the programme.
