Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar)- Following the successful completion of the Second BRICS Technical Meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Working Group in Puri, Dr. Krishna S. Vatsa, Member and Head of Department, NDMA, Ms. Rita Missal, Member, NDMA, along with Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, IAS, Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, called on Ms. Anu Garg, IAS, Chief Secretary, Odisha on 6 June 2026 at Lokseva Bhawan. During the meeting, Dr. Vatsa and Ms. Missal briefed the Chief Secretary on the key discussions and deliberations held during the BRICS DRR meetings and related engagements under the BRICS Summit framework.
Chief Secretary,Odisha Smt. Garg appreciated the successful organization of the international event in Puri and reiterated Odisha's commitment to advancing disaster resilience through robust preparedness, effective response mechanisms and adoption of global best practices. She also highlighted Odisha's experience and achievements in disaster management, particularly in cyclone preparedness, early warning dissemination and community participation, which have earned recognition at national and international levels.
