Bhubaneswar - The Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), a land mark employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at promoting large-scale formal employment generation and strengthening social security coverage across sectors. The scheme is expected to incentivize the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over a period of two years.
As part of the nationwide rollout of the scheme, a major national event will be held on 19 June 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, under the leadership of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. Simultaneously, state-level and district-level programmes will be organized across the country to maximize outreach and facilitate interaction among employers, employees and beneficiaries.
In Odisha, programmes are being organized at six locations to mark the occasion with participation from representatives of the State Government, employers, workers, EPFO officials and beneficiaries of the scheme.
The key objectives of the event are:
• Facilitating interaction between Government representatives, employers and
PM-VBRY beneficiaries.
• Distribution of appointment letters by employers to newly recruited
employees.
• Creating awareness among employers and employees regarding social
security benefits and recent labour reforms.
• Promoting formalization of employment and expansion of social security
coverage.
The programme will also feature a live telecast of the national event from New Delhi, enabling participants to witness the launch proceedings and the Hon'ble Prime Minister's address.
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), in coordination with the State Government and other stakeholders, is making arrangements for the successful conduct of the programme.
The PM-VBRY initiative reflects the Government's commitment to employment-led growth, job creation and strengthening of social security for workers across the country.
