Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar)- Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar celebrated Utkal Divas with great enthusiasm, commemorating the formation of Odisha as a separate state and honouring its rich cultural heritage. The programm aimed to instill a sense of pride among students for Odisha’s language, traditions, and glorious legacy.
The celebration commenced with floral tributes to eminent personalities who contributed to the formation of Odisha, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Sri Madhusudan Das, reputed social worker and Abahak of Odisha Punahnirman Abhiyan.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of preserving Odisha’s cultural identity and urged students to contribute towards the development of society with dedication and responsibility. Emphasizing environmental protection, he appealed to all patrons to plant at least ten saplings each. He also encouraged students to prepare seed balls from seeds of large native trees and hand them over to their respective class teachers so that they can be used for promoting greenery.
Students presented a vibrant cultural programme featuring Odia patriotic songs, traditional dances, speeches, and recitations showcasing the state’s rich cultural diversity. The performances reflected deep respect for Odisha’s heritage and filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour.
Pradhan Acharjiya Sri Niranjan Taras, in his presidential address, encouraged students to remain rooted in Odia culture and work towards the progress of the state. Teachers also spoke about the contributions of legendary leaders, including Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, who played a pivotal role in the creation of Odisha.
Various competitions such as essay writing, drawing, and quizzes based on Odisha’s history and culture were organized to mark the occasion. Students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated their creativity and knowledge. Students were felicitated for their achievements in different competitions organized.
The programme concluded with the rendition of Bande Utkal Janani, creating a sense of unity and pride among all present. The celebration witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and staff, making the event meaningful and memorable.
