New Delhi - Shri Charan Hembram is a Santali (Ol Chiki) educationist and cultural worker who has made significant contributions in promoting and institutionalizing Santali language, literature and culture in Odisha. Shri Hembram served as the Secretary of the Odisha Santali Education Board under ASECA (O), Rairangpur from 1992 to 2004. During his tenure, he played a transformative role in Santali education. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will confer the Padma Shri award on Shri Charan Hembram for the year 2026 at the Citizens' Appreciation Ceremony-II to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 23 June 2026.
