Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar )- The 39th convocation of IGNOU was held on 7th April 2026 at its New Delhi Head Quarters and at different Regional centres in the country. Shri C. P. Krishnan, Honorable Vice President of India was the Chief Guest and Sh. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Lt Governor of Delhi was the Guest of Honour in the function held at IGNOU Head Quarters. Prof. Uma Kanjilal, Vice Chancellor of IGNOU conferred the degrees and diplomas on the students.
Respected Sh Rabinarayan Naik , Hon’ble Minister, Rural Development, Panchyati Raj & Drinking Water; Respected Sh Krushna Chandra Patra , Hon’ble Minister Science & Technology and Food Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Respected Prof Narasingha Charan Panda, Vice Chancellor, Central University, Odisha were the Guests of Honour at the function held by IGNOU Regional Centre, Bhubanesar. Addressed the convocation at the IGNOU Regional Center Bhubaneswar. 3.24 Lakhs learners of IGNOU, including 7119 learners of the Regional Center Bhubaneswar (3410 Master Degree students; 2668 Bachelors Degree Students; 243 PG Dip/PG Certificate students, 389 Diploma Students and 404 Certificate.
Hon’ble Minister Ravi Narayan Naik held that convocation is not merely a ceremonial event; it is, a celebration of knowledge, resilience, and transformation. He said that IGNOU’s students, like Ekalavya of the Mahabharat are self motivated and are lively examples of life-long-learning. He congratulated the successful students.
Hon’ble Minister Sh. Krushna Chandra Patra congratulated the students on their passing out ceremony and held that they are the biggest assets of the country and their skills and knowledge will contribute in a big way to Vikshit Bharat 2047.
Prof. N C Panda, in his address, hailed the role of IGNOU in bringing higher education to the doorstep of the learners. He emphasized that their efforts and perseverance woul help them scale new heights in life. Dr. M K Dash, Sr. Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar congratulated the students presented a brief report of the activities of IGNOU Regional Centre Bhubaneswar in the last one year. He said that this Degree is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities and responsibilities. Dr. Bimal Chandra Nanda, Deputy Director conducted the Programme at the ceremony held at Bhubaneswar. Dr. S K Panigrahi, Additional Director, Dr. P K Jena, Deputy Director and other official as were also present on the occasion.
