Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar / New Delhi)- Famous Odia language poet Girijakumar Baliyar Singh’s poetry collection Padapurana has been selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award 2025 The award carries a copper plaque, a shawl and Rs.1,00,000 prize money and will be presented in New Delhi on 31 March 2026

Sahitya Akademi has announced today its annual Sahitya Akademi Awards in 24 Indian languages recognised by it. 8 books of poetry, 4 novels, 6 books of short stories, 2 essays, 1 literary criticism, 1 autobiography and 2 memoirs have won the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2025.

Every year, Sahitya Akademi bestows awards in 24 languages recognized by it through an established process. For the Sahitya Akademi Award 2025, the process started in January 2025 with issuance of an open advertisement vide 30 January 2025.

The Awards, recommended by distinguished Jury members in 24 Indian languages, were approved by the Competent Authority of Sahitya Akademi.
