7th Batch of World Skill Center graduates; Skill is the new currency for success says Hon’ble Minister

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- The Hon’ble Minister, Skill Development & Technical Education and Industries, Odisha, Shri. Sampad Chandra Swain graced the 7th Graduation Ceremony of the World Skill Center (WSC), Bhubaneswar, as the Chief Guest today. A total of 506 students graduated after successfully completing advanced, industry-aligned skill training programmes, marking another important milestone in Odisha’s journey towards becoming a hub for world-class skill development.

Hon’ble Minister congratulated the graduating students and described the occasion as a celebration of the aspirations, perseverance, and limitless potential of Odisha’s youth. He emphasized that the graduation ceremony was not merely about earning certificates but about preparing a future-ready workforce capable of contributing to the State, the nation, and the global economy. He further shared that skill development remains a key pillar in realizing the vision of “Samruddha Odisha by 2036” and contributing to the national goal of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.” The State Government is placing special emphasis on Next-Generation Skills to prepare youth for emerging technologies and future industries.

Out of the 506 graduates, 261 are women, accounting for more than 51% of the total graduates, reflecting the growing confidence and participation of women in advanced and industry-linked skill education. More than 93% of the graduates have already secured placements in reputed national and international companies. Eight graduates have secured placement with Dubai-based Al Ghurair, further strengthening the global recognition of the “Skilled-in-Odisha” brand. 

On this occasion, Hon’ble Minister inaugurated the Spatial AI Lab at the World Skill Center, established in collaboration with EON Reality (USA) and ITEES (Singapore), as a major step towards equipping students with advanced capabilities in Spatial AI and Geospatial Technologies. 

Shri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education Department; Shri Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, Chief Executive Officer, World Skill Center; and other senior officials of the Department along with industry partners, faculty members, and distinguished guests were present.
