10 dead in SCB Tragic Fire accident; 25 lakh Compensation announced for SCB ICU Fire death;  CM announced the compensation along with judicial enquiry

Paperman Media (Cuttack )- At least 10 critical patients lost their lives in a tragic fire inside the Trauma ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on morning of Monday. Several other patients remain in critical condition after the incident. Expressing deep grief over the tragedy, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited SCB college and hospital, inspected the site of the fire, and met the families of the victims as well as other patients undergoing treatment. The Chief Minister Shri Majhi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and assured them of all possible support. As a relief measure, the Shri Majhi has announced 25 lakh compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of each deceased patient. The CM has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire and fix responsibility for any negligence. The Chief Minister also directed SCB authorities to ensure that patients shifted from the ICU receive the best possible medical treatment without delay. Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh visited the place and expressed his condolences to the diceased family.
