Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar)- The three-day State-Level Tribal Volunteer Empowerment Programme organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Bureau of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) with the support of the NSS Cell, Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, concluded successfully today with active participation from over 200 NSS volunteers representing 16 universities across the state.
Participating in the last day session Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, Shri Akhil Kumar Mishra, highlighted the importance of effective communication in policy formulation and ensuring the outreach of government welfare initiatives to the grassroots.
Addressing the NSS volunteers Shri Mishra said that effective communication is crucial for motivating people, clarifying doubts, strengthening relationships, building trust, and paving the way for the overall progress of society. He stressed that communication plays a vital role in building an inclusive and participatory social environment.
Responding to queries from the participants, Shri Mishra emphasized that special attention should be given to strengthening the communication skills of tribal people residing in media-shadow areas so that they can better access the benefits of various government schemes. He said awareness and communication must reach every section of society especially tribal and marginalized communities.
He further underlined that fear and silence act as major barriers to effective communication and urged the participants to break the silence and express their concerns openly.
During the event,Dr. Maitree Padhy, NSS Programme Officer; Dr. Manoranjan Mohapatra, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology and former NSS Coordinator; Dr. Parikshit Khatua, NSS Programme Coordinator, KISS, were also present.
