Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar )- Sportspersons of Odisha Police who have achieved outstanding success in various sports competitions at the state and national level were felicitated at a special program organized at the Police Bhawan in Bhubaneswar today.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania attended as the chief guest and presented the sportspersons with certificates of appreciation and cash prizes for their extraordinary performance.
On this occasion, DGP Shri Khurania congratulated the medal winners and praised their talent, discipline and hard work. He said that this success of the sportspersons is a matter of pride for the state and Odisha Police and their success will attract the youth of Odisha towards sports.
It is noteworthy that in the recently organized All-India Police and Senior National Championship-2026, sportspersons of Odisha Police have won multiple gold, silver and bronze medals. Ritu Kaudi and Sonalika Das won gold medals in the rowing competition. Similarly, sportspersons have also achieved remarkable success in canoeing, kayaking, karate and athletics.
On the other hand, in the 74th State Police Athletic Championship 2025-26 held in Cuttack, 7 athletes from Odisha Police have set new milestones by creating new ‘meet records’ in 11 different disciplines. Sportspersons like Vighnaraj Miridia, Ashok Dandsena, Sushmita Tiga and Sabita Toppo have set new records by performing exceptionally in their respective categories.
