Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sanjay Kumar Biswal assumed charge as the new Director of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Odisha Government on Saturday.
A welcome programme was organised at the conference hall of Lok Samparka Bhawan, where Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Behuria, Joint Secretary Kalamuddin, Additional Director Smita Kar and Joint Director Sucheta Priyadarshini welcomed Biswal by presenting him with bouquets. Department officials and employees also extended their greetings to the newly appointed Director.
The officials also conveyed their best wishes to former Director Anuj Kumar Das Patnaik on his new assignment.
After assuming office, Biswal sought the cooperation and support of all officers and employees for the smooth and effective functioning of the department. He emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts in carrying out the responsibilities of the Information and Public Relations Department.
His experience in administration and transport-related affairs is expected to contribute to the effective functioning of the department.
