Odisha Police sportspersons perform brilliantly in 25th All India Police Water Sports Cluster Championship 2025-26 held in Uttarakhand

Paperman Media (Cuttack)- Odisha Police sportspersons have brought glory to the state by performing brilliantly in the 25th All India Police Water Sports Cluster (Kayaking, Canoeing and Rowing) Championship 2025-26 held in Teheri, Uttarakhand.

 

The successful sportspersons paid a courtesy call on the Director General of Police, Shri Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, at the State Police Headquarters today. DGP Shri Khurania welcomed all the medal winners and highly appreciated their sportsmanship. DGP Shri Khurania expressed that this success of Odisha Police in the field of water sports will inspire other sportspersons in the coming days.

 

It is worth mentioning that in this national level competition held from April 8 to 12, the Odisha Police team won a total of 2 silver and 7 bronze medals. Odisha women sportspersons have performed well in competitions like rowing and canoeing.

Achievements of medal winners:

• Ritu Kaudi (Sundergarh): Silver medal in rowing 500 meters and bronze medal in 2000 meters.

• Sonalika Das (UPD Cuttack): Silver medal in rowing 500 meters and bronze medal in 2000 meters.

• Sachima Kerketa (Sundergarh): Bronze medal in canoeing C-1 (200 meters).

• Sanjukta Dungdung (Cuttack), Reshma Lakra (Sundergarh), Rachel Lakra (Sundergarh) and Sumitra Mallick (Cuttack): Won a joint bronze medal in Rowing (Coxless Four 500m) category.

Additional Director General of Security (Law and Order) Shri Sanjay Kumar was present at the event and encouraged the players.
