BJP state president Manmohan Samal, MP Sujeet Kumar, famous induattialist former state and central minister Dillip Ray and political advisor of Naveen Pattanaik won the Rs race. Dr Dateswar Hota lost due to cross voting. 6 standing MLA from BJD, 2 expelled MLA of BJD and 3 standing MLA from Congress did cross voting and voted to Dillip Ray.
