In a major step towards accelerating industrial growth and strengthening Odisha’s MSME ecosystem, the Land Allotment Committee of the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has approved 37 project proposals.
The committee, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department and Chairperson, IDCO, Smt Usha Padhee, approved the proposals at its meeting held on September 2.
Of the total approvals, 24 land proposals are for major industrial projects, while 13 proposals are aimed at promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The decisions are expected to facilitate faster project implementation, generate employment opportunities and strengthen industrial and supply-chain ecosystems across the State.
The swift disposal of proposals reflects IDCO’s focus on time-bound decision-making, efficient land administration and improved investor facilitation. Faster processing of land-related approvals is expected to create a more predictable and investor-friendly environment for both large industries and emerging enterprises.
Alongside administrative clearances, IDCO has also intensified field-level monitoring of industrial infrastructure. Under the leadership of Smt Padhee, direct inspections are being carried out in emerging industrial estates and strategic corridors across Khordha, Cuttack and Kalinga Nagar.
During these visits, officials assess land development, master planning, power and water supply, connectivity, freight movement and essential civic infrastructure. Special attention is also being given to worker-friendly and safe infrastructure, including facilities for women employees.
IDCO’s twin focus on speedy approvals and on-ground monitoring aims to ensure that land allotments translate into productive investments, employment generation and sustainable industrial growth, further strengthening Odisha as a competitive and investor-ready destination.
