Academic Excellence Celebrated at Iconic OAV, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Felicitates Achievers

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )-Meritorious students of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) were felicitated at a special ceremony held at the Iconic OAV, Andharua Bhubaneswar, in recognition of their outstanding performance in the 2026 annual examinations and various national-level entrance examinations. The students were honoured and awarded by Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School & Mass Education Department.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Dr. Naik congratulated the students on their remarkable achievements and wished them success in their future endeavours. He was joined by the State Project Director of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, Smt. Smita Rout, and the Principal of Iconic OAV, Shri Tanuj Kumar Nayak, as distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naik said that such felicitation programmes recognise the hard work and dedication of meritorious students and inspire others to strive for excellence. He described the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya initiative as one of the State Government's flagship programmes and noted that OAVs have made remarkable progress over the past decade. He further stated that the Iconic OAV provides talented students with an excellent platform to understand their aspirations. He also advised the students to remain disciplined and continue pursuing quality education while inspiring others through their achievements.

Dr. Naik also interacted with the achievers, alumni and current students of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya. During the interaction, he discussed their academic journeys, preparation strategies and future aspirations. SPD Smt. Smita Rout congratulated the students and remarked that this achievement was not the end but the beginning of a new journey. She also thanked the teachers and parents for their invaluable contribution to the success of the OAVs.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to the top nine performers in the AISSE 2026 examination, the top fifteen students in the AISSCE 2026 Science and Commerce streams, the top thirteen JEE achievers, and fifteen successful NEET qualifiers.

Lavyansh Meher of OAV, Badi, Nuapada, and Swayam Swagat Kara of OAV, Chapatakhand, Narla, Kalahandi, was honoured with the 'Student of the Year' award. Cash awards of 5,000 each were presented to the top performers in the CBSE Class X examination—Arshibad Martha, Arshibad Mishra, Shreya Smaranika, Shreyans Nanda, and Swayam Sanket Das. Similarly, CBSE Class XII Science topper Sai Soham Pradhan, Commerce topper Disha Saha, OAV JEE topper Priyush Ranjan Swain, and OAV NEET topper Swayam Swagat Kara also received cash awards of 5,000 each. In addition, three OAV alumni who secured admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)—Lavyansh Meher, Binayak Patra, and Priyush Ranjan Swain—were awarded cash incentives of Rs.20,000, Rs.30,000, and Rs.50,000 respectively, a cash award donated by Dr. Raghaba prasada  Sahu, Rtd Scientist of ISRO, in recognition of their achievements.
