176 Countries and 103 Languages Newspapers stored in village based Museum

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar ]- As we know every museum has stored various products including old and ancient items but no museum kept newspapers. Do you know any museum in which you find newspapers? Here is a rural personal museum of Jajpur in where you can find newspapers of more than 100 different titles. Dolagobinda Newspaper Museum and Research centre of Arangabad village of Bari block under Jajpur district is the place you can find today 103 different languages newspapers of 176 countries including India.

Meet the founder of Dolagobinda Newspaper Museum and Research centre a post graduate degree holder in Buddhist Studies Shri Shashanka Sekhar Dash. He is popularly known as Paperman India. He has a collection of more than 10000 newspapers of 176 countries and 103 languages. And the newspapers are kept in his rural Museum which is named after on his retired middle school headmaster father’s name. His Dolagobinda Newspaper Museum and research centre now a day’s reference centre of some people including journalists, journalism students, enthusiasts and others.

In the year 2000 Shashanka has started the newspaper collection when he was associated with a small Odia newspaper as a trainee journalist. He saw there are many newspapers published in state but all were not sustained due to some reasons. That’s why he has started the collection with an aim and mission to preserve the history of journalism through print. First, he gathered Odia newspapers, then English and Hindi language newspapers of Odisha. After that he has started collection of other states and languages. Further he added non-Indian newspapers. Slowly his collection grows. Till today he has collected 5995 different titles.

Shri Dash has exhibited his collection for 20 times at various parts of Odisha, Haryana and Delhi. More than 5 lakh peoples watched his exhibition. He has exhibited his collection for the students of Birla Global University (Bhubaneswar), J C Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA (Faridabad) and Indian Institute of Mass Communication (Dhenkanal). He has exhibited his collection at State level National Press celebration on 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 at Bhubaneswar. His collection displayed at first Biswa Odia Bhasha Sammilani at Bhubaneswar, Odisha State Museum, Odisha State Archives and many other places of Odisha. 

Shashanka’s name featured in Guinness World Records (GWR), Limca Book of Records (LBR), OMG Book of Records, Exclusive World Records (EWR), India Book of Records (IBR) and Credence Book of World Records (CBWR).

Shashanka Sekhar Dash is a Guinness World Records Holder for newspapers collection. That's why he popularly known as Paperman India. He has vast journalism experience both in print and electronics media. He also editor of an Odia weekly named as 'Paperman India' registered in PRGI, Govt of India. His book 'Khabarakagaja Aneka Katha' is a masterpiece of journalism.
