Paperman Media (Bhubaneswar)- The Kalinga War is an epoch-making event in the history of the world. A committee has been formed by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department to consider the proposal to erect a pillar in memory of the Kalinga warriors, who transformed Chandashoka into Dharmashoka and wrote a great story of bravery and transformation in history.
The committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Ekamra MLA Babu Singh. Eminent literary figure Dr. Pratibha Roy, eminent historian Dr. Nihar Ranjan Patnaik, Dr. Benudhar Patra, Dr. Anam Behera, Anil Dhir, Special Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department Deba Prasad Dash, Khurda District Collector, Deputy Director of the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department and a representative of the Odisha State Archaeology are the members of the main committee.
A meeting was held today in Dhauli under the chairmanship of Ekamra MLA Shri Singh. The committee members have proposed to erect a memorial stone pillar in memory of the brave soldiers of Kalinga who died in the Kalinga War on the banks of the Daya river at the foot of Dhauli and to establish a museum, Karubaki temple, and amphitheatre.
