Odisha's pride and Knee Striker of India, Sachin Behera, who is a 3-time Guinness World Records Holder, has once again created history by achieving two records and entering his name in both India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records, bringing glory to the state.
It is worth mentioning that Sachin had achieved his first Guinness World Record in 2019 and his second and third Guinness World Records in 2022, becoming the first Guinness holder from Nuapada district.
For this new success, Hon'ble Minister for Sports & Youth Services, Govt of Odisha, Shri Suryabanshi Suraj felicitated him today at his official residence.
Details of New Records:
Record 1: Maximum Full Contact Knee Strikes in 1 Minute with 1 Kg Ankle Weight on One Leg (Male) - 103 times
Record 2: Maximum Full Contact Knee Strikes in 1 Minute with 5 Kg Ankle Weight on One Leg (Male) - 88 times
Both records are in Male category. This record attempt was held on 10th September 2026 at Overall Sports Academy, Bhubaneswar.
Present as witnesses were Shri Soumya Ranjan Das as Expert Witness, Shri Krupasindhu Barik as Kick Pad Holder and Shri Sandeep Patnaik as Time Keeper.
Later, it was officially confirmed by India Book of Records on 15th September 2026 and by Asia Book of Records on 24th September 2026.
For this glorious success, on 30th September 2026, OLL and Sports & Youth Services Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj met Sachin Behera at his residence and felicitated him with a bouquet and gift.
Minister said, “Talent like Sachin is the pride of Odisha. Coming from a border district like Nuapada, he has brought laurels to Odisha at World, Asia and India level. His success will be an inspiration for thousands of youth in the state.”
About Sachin Behera: Sachin Behera is a resident of Larka village, Boden Block, Nuapada District and is the first Guinness World Record holder of the district. He has completed BPT from Hi-Tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar and is currently pursuing MPT.
