Bhubaneswar - The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and SUM Hospital, Campus 1, organised a free mega health camp for members of the legal fraternity at the premises of the Bhubaneswar Court, benefiting around 1,000 lawyers.
The health camp was jointly organised by IMS and SUM Hospital in association with the Bhubaneswar Bar Association Welfare Trust as part of its commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and community well-being on Theusday.
A team of nearly 30 specialist doctors from various departments, including General Medicine, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Dental, and Dermatology, conducted comprehensive health check-ups and offered medical consultations to the participating advocates.
The initiative received an enthusiastic response from members of the legal community, who availed themselves of the free health screening and expert medical advice. The camp aimed to encourage early diagnosis, preventive care, and greater awareness about maintaining good health among legal professionals, whose demanding schedules often leave little time for regular health check-ups.
The organisers said such community outreach programmes reflect the hospital's continued commitment to providing accessible, quality healthcare while promoting preventive medicine among different sections of society. The successful conduct of the mega health camp further strengthened the partnership between the healthcare institution and the legal fraternity in the interest of public welfare.
