Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- Eminent educationist, philanthropist, and Founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta, has been conferred with his 75th Honorary Doctorate by the prestigious Maharaja Ganga Singh University (MGSU), Bikaner, one of Rajasthan's oldest state government universities.
The honorary degree was presented at a special convocation ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan) in Jaipur on Friday. The university recognised Dr. Samanta's exceptional contributions to education, social transformation, and inclusive development through his pioneering initiatives that have empowered millions, particularly underprivileged and tribal communities.
After a comprehensive evaluation of his lifelong achievements and impact on society, MGSU selected Dr. Samanta for the distinguished honour, marking another significant milestone in his remarkable journey.
The honorary doctorate was conferred by Rajasthan Governor and Chancellor of MGSU, Haribhau Bagde, in the presence of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj Dixit, Registrar Prof. Yashpal Ahuja, along with several ministers, legislators, academicians, and other distinguished dignitaries. On the same occasion, National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar was also awarded an honorary doctorate.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Samanta thanked Governor Haribhau Bagde and the university authorities for bestowing the honour and for recognising the contributions of both Odisha and his lifelong work in education and social service. He described the recognition as a cherished memory that would remain close to his heart forever.
Dr. Samanta dedicated the prestigious honour to the memory of his late mother, Nilima Rani Samanta, whose 10th death anniversary will be observed on August 2. He said the doctorate is a humble tribute to her enduring inspiration and sacrifices, which have guided his life's mission of serving society through education.
The latest recognition further strengthens Dr. Samanta's standing as one of India's most decorated educationists and social reformers, with honorary doctorates from universities across the globe recognising his outstanding contributions to humanity.
