Bhubaneswar- Paperman India Shashanka Sekhar Dash felicitated by odia weekly Samiksha on Friday during papers 14th annual function as well award ceremony. Samiksha felicitated Shashanka for his outstanding contribution in the field of newspaper collection. Shashanka is the proud winner of Limca Book of records, India Book of records and Credence Book of World record holder for the collection of newspapers. His name also shortlisted for Guinness World Records. Till date he has collected more than 6500 newspapers from 106 countries. These are 88 languages and 4456 different titles.
Shashanka felicitated among other dignitaries including Dr Satya Ray ( Journalist), Rakshyaka Nayak ( literature), Janmenjaya Ray ( Law), Dr Debasish Mishra (Medicine), Jayanta Kumar Mohanty ( Social service, Archana Jachak and Panchanan Behera (education).
Justice A S Naidu, former justice Odisha high court inaugurated the function in presence of Hon’ble Minister Ranendra Kumar Swain, retired prof Dr Umakanta Mishra, MLA Ananta Kumar Jena, Khadi board president Sangram Keshari Paikray, senior journalist Bapi Mishra, senior advocate Gokulananda Patnaik and ediotor Samiksha Dr Maheswar.
All the speakers emphasized the importance of journalists and weekly newspapers in the society. They said weekly papers are not promotes news but they emphasize to the discussion of news. That’s why weekly newspaper have very crucial role.
