New Delhi- Former President Pranab Mukherjee will be honored as India’s highest civilian honor on 8th August. According to sources, Pranab Mukherjee will be given the Bharat Ratna Award by the President on August 8. This year, President Ramnath Kovind had announced the award to former President Pranab Mukherjee, social worker Nanaji Deshmukh and famous composer and singer Bhupen Hazarika. Pranab Mukherjee was President of the country from July 2012 to July 2017 Prior to this, he also took charge of important ministries like Finance, Defence and Foreign. From 2004 to 2012, he was considered the chief ‘crisis-maker’ in the Congress-led UPA government at the Center.
