Congress manifesto released in Odisha with 19 promises for 2019 election- 070419

Bhubaneswar- Odisha Congress today released its election Manifesto with 19 promises. Odisha Pradesh Congress President Niranjan Patnaik said if party will form government in coming legislative election then these 19 promises will fulfill as soon as possible. Party promised to give 33 per cent reservation in government jobs, parliament and assembly to women, including giving Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment allowance to the unemployed, for the wages of Rs 2 lakh per family. In a 32-page manifesto Congress promised to give Rs. 72,000 to the five crore poor families under the jurisdiction while focusing on farmers, youth, women, tribals and Dalits. Also, in the manifesto it has been said that all the workers working in the public sector will be regularized, whereas there will be no employees on contract in education, health and social security services.

Elections in Lok Sabha and Assembly are being done in Odisha simultaneously. For this reason, the party’s state unit has issued a separate manifesto for the state, in which promise to take concrete steps to solve issues such as unemployment, agricultural crisis, protection and empowerment of women besides tribal and upliftment of Dalits said Manifesto Committee chairman Ganeswar Behera. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee chief Niranjan Patnaik released an election manifesto in the presence of senior party leaders here. He said that under the jurisdiction scheme, Rs 6000 per month of assistance will be sent directly to the bank account of the female member of the family. Promising employment for everyone in the manifesto has been said that in each family, one person will be given employment in government or private sector, whereas unemployment will be given unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month. The Congress has also promised to give land to the landless and give homeless houses.

In the manifesto, it has been mentioned that within 10 days when the party comes to power, the crop loan will be waived up to Rs 2 lakh per family per family. It has also been said that minimum support price (MSP) of Rs. 2600 per quintal for paddy will be given. In the next three years, every farming family will get special financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per annum. In the manifesto for women empowerment, 33 percent reservation for women in the parliament and the state assembly, including 33 percent reservation in the central and state government jobs, has been promised. Concerned over the atrocities against Dalits, the party said that special Dalit security cell and special courts will be formed.
