Former Minister and BJD MP Arjun Sethy resign from party after not given ticket to his son and join BJP- 300319

Bhubaneswar- Former union water resource minister of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government and MP from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha resigned on Saturday after not giving ticket to his son Abhimanyu Sethy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In his resignation to the BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, MP Arjun Sethi  said that so many party leaders son got the ticket but why not his son.  He from the party’s post of District president of Bhadrakh as well as from party primary membership.  “I was elected as a Member of Parliament from Janata Dal and BJD six times and twice from congress. I never gave up with the challenges of helping to strengthen the BJD in the district.” But Party did not want me, he said.

He said, “I met you repeatedly in the last few months and I was assured that due to my growing age, my son will contest election from Bhadrak, but unfortunately his name has been removed from the final list of candidates.” Sethi said that to meet the Chief Minister, he also visited his residence in Bhubaneswar, but he was not allowed to meet. He said, “BJD and you have made clear that I do not need the party.” Party has given ticket to Manjulata Mandal, wife of current legislator Muktikanta Mandal.

Former Jajpur MP Mohan Jena also joined BJP today. After BJD declared the MP candidates for Jajpur constituency he resigned from BJD on 28th March. In 2014 he did not got the ticket from BJD but this time he is hoping so.
